Paleti to feature Dawa Gyalmo – this September 28th, 29th
The 9th edition of nepa~laya's Paleti Series is all set to feature a beautiful treasure of Nepali adhunik - Dawa Gyalmo. Darjeeling based Gyalmo has arrived in Kathmandu and is engaged with rehearsals with the Paleti team of musicians.
Well known for her singles likes – Sahar Bhitra Ke ko Halla and duets with Daisy Baraily like Baduli Lagyo…, Gyalmo does have a lot more musical treasure to share with the Paleti audience. She has served the art field for more than 30 years now. A simple and humble looking Gyalmo carries with her a talent that reaches depth to satisfy any critiques.
Among other songs to Dawa Gyalmo's credit would fall – Raat Gahirindai Jancha, Malai rukho sahanubhuti, Subhakama…
"Participation at the Paleti Series had created a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness. May be because this is my first solo show. I have also been off stage for a long time. But with the rehearsal sessions on track – I am gaining confidence. I will try my best to satisfy the paleti audience." says Gyalmo who is making her début solo appearance at the 29th September Paleti.
"Dawa Gyalmo's contribution to Nepali music has been invaluable. We feel privileged and proud to have her at the Paleti series." says Paleti coordinator Aavaas.
With this show Dawa is to join the Paleti list, which already has veteran and reputed names like – Bhim Birag, Shanti Thatal, Kumar Subba, Karma Yonzon, Daisy Baraili, Manjul, Ganesh Rashik and Phatteman.
"It has now been a tradition to have an extra Paleti show. Normally the second show follows on Saturday but this time due to Dassian, we are having the extra show on Thursday (28th Sept.)," clarifies Aavaas informing about an additional show. "We get delighted and motivated to see the increasing trend in terms of interest to Paleti shows" he adds.
